    Former CWC rodeo athlete killed in car crash

    (Riverton, WY) – Central Wyoming College is reporting that alumnus Hadly McCormick died in a car crash on March 26th.

    McCormick is a former Rustler rodeo athlete who had transferred to Oklahoma-Panhandle State University. He was on his way to a rodeo in Garden City, Kansas when the crash occurred.

    His Oklahoma Panhandle State University teammate, Cinch Bullock was also killed in the crash. McCormick was 23, Bullock was 19.

    During his time at CWC, Hadly competed in tie-down roping, team roping and steer wrestling. He was also on the President’s List in 2016 and Dean’s List in the spring of 2017. He graduated in 2018 with a 3.68 GPA

    McCormick was originally from Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

    “The best way to describe Hadly is he loved to rope calves and absolutely lived life to the fullest,” said Drew Schrock the Head Rodeo Coach at CWC. “It didn’t matter what I asked of him he was willing to do it with a great big Hadly smile. He was a great student, teammate and anyone that had the opportunity to meet him are better because of it.”

    McCormick’s funeral arrangements and obituary have not yet been released.

    “It is tragic when we lose a fellow Rustler,” said Dr. Brad Tyndall, CWC president. “We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.”
