(Dubois, WY) – Saturday, July 31st was a busy, fun-filled day in Dubois, with the 2nd annual Fly-In and Community Aviation Day kicking things off in the morning, as well as the 1st annual Old West Brewfest later in the afternoon.
Held at the Dubois Municipal Airport, the Fly-in had something for everyone this year, music from two different bands, balloon animals, horse-drawn rides from Justus Jacobs and State Farm Insurance, a Kiwanis Club of Dubois ‘Flying FlapJack’ pancake breakfast, and planes galore.
After the Fly-In activities, County 10 headed over to the 1st annual Old West Brewfest in the Dubois Town Park.
The Dubois Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Rustic Pine Tavern to feature Wyoming microbreweries such as Lander Brewing, Wind River Brewing, Roadhouse Brewing, Gruner Brewing, Snake River Brewing, Blacktooth Brewing, and Snowy Mountain Brewing.
“We’ve been working hard to bring this fun, community-building event to Dubois,” Executive Director of the Dubois Chamber of Commerce Jennifer Weydeveld stated leading up to the event.
“The first Old West Brewfest wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and positive leadership of our partner Luke Sander, owner of the Rustic Pine. Michelle Forster from the Wyoming Craft Brewers Guild will also be a big part of our event.”
“I’m excited to be representing several of our wonderful breweries this weekend at one of the most beautiful spots in Wyoming,” added Forster, Executive Director of the Wyoming Craft Brewers Guild.
In addition to music from Casper musician Ahna Weydeveld and Lander’s Picket Fence / String Theory, there were local vendors, games, and food provided by Coyote Blue, WY Smoke Burritos, and Cajun Rendezvous, marking a community event for the whole family.
More summer fun still awaits those in Dubois, with the ‘His and Hers Golf Tournament’ at the Antelope Hills Golf Course, and the “Astronomy of the Summer Sky” program at the Dubois Museum, both on Saturday, August 7th.
