    First ever female Wyoming State Penitentiary Warden recently named by WDOC

    (Cheyenne, WY) – On December 9th, The Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) announced the promotion of Wyoming native Deputy Warden Neicole Molden to serve as Warden at the Wyoming State Penitentiary, effective December 17, 2021.

    Warden Molden was hired by the WDOC in 2009 as a Unit Manager Supervisor, where she also held the position of Associate Warden, and most recently served as Deputy Warden at the Wyoming State Penitentiary.

    In total Warden Molden has over 28 years in Criminal Justice.

    Warden Molden has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wyoming and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

    Director Shannon said that “Warden Molden is extensively experienced in both field services and prison operations, making her an extremely qualified employee, and we are very happy to have the opportunity to promote her to this critical position of leadership in the Department.”

    “I am truly humbled by the opportunity to be the first female Warden for the Wyoming State Penitentiary,” Warden Molden commented. “I know that the experience and knowledge that I have will assist me to be successful in this position.”
