Find the secret to success with SBDC’s “Start Your Own Business” Workshop

Not every entrepreneur has a degree in business, and even if you do, bringing your idea to life while flying solo can seem like a daunting task.

Luckily for Fremont County business owners (and hopefuls!), there is plenty of support when questions come up.

The Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network offers a huge amount of advice and assistance to established businesses and to help you start a business of any size in any industry.

The best part — their services are always free and completely confidential thanks to the support from the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council, and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Entrepreneurs looking to start their own business can learn about everything that is required during an upcoming Start Your Own Business Workshop in Riverton.

Presented by the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network, the Riverton Chamber of Commerce, and County10, this no-cost training will provide a basic overview of starting a business in our state.

The workshop will take place on March 12 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the County10 office at 2255 Brunton Ct.

Explore the pros and cons of owning a business and evaluate the skills and knowledge necessary for success. This workshop will cover numerous topics such as:

    • testing the feasibility of your business idea
    • identifying your target market
    • financing options
    • creating a business plan
    • and more

    .

SBA representatives will also provide an overview of Wyoming’s Opportunity Zones, an investment program designed to help bolster economic vitality in low-income or otherwise disadvantaged communities.

This is designed to be an interactive program, so bring your questions. This program is free-of-charge for Wyoming residents, but pre-registration is appreciated.

The workshop will be presented by Wyoming SBDC Network Regional Director Sarah Hamlin. Hamlin comes from a marketing and operations background with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver, an MBA from Colorado State University, and a certificate in Social Media Marketing from SUNY Plattsburg.
