    Finalists selected for the 2022 Fremont County Start-Up Challenge

    On Wednesday, March 23rd a panel of local judges selected five finalists for the first annual Fremont County Start-Up Challenge business competition. The judges chose the finalists after hearing presentations about their business ideas from a pool of over 35 applicants.

    The five finalists will now pitch their business ideas in front of the judging panel and a live audience at an event in mid-May on the campus of Central Wyoming College. Details to come!

    High Country Fungus (Daniel Stewart) – an idea to grow mushroom spores into sustainable packaging to provide a natural option for reducing waste.

    Pelleting Wool (Alicia Rux) – using sheep wool byproduct to create pellets for water absorption and retention of soil moisture.

    Things That Grow (Ty Fife) – a business to use household and agricultural waste to create a rich compost suitable for consumer and industrial uses.

    Locker Custom Cabinets (Eric Locker) – a high-end custom cabinet manufacturer using the last CNC cutting technology.

    Ugly Chews (Dallin and Steve Cooper) – a concept taking beef hides and turning them into natural and healthy dog treats.

    The Fremont County Start-Up Challenge is a joint effort between the University of Wyoming’s IMPACT 307 program and Central Wyoming College.

    A special thanks to all the great sponsors of the 2022 Fremont County Start-Up Challenge. The event attracted over 15 sponsors donating dollar amounts ranging from $500 – $25,000 this year.
