    February 4th Fremont County Commissioners’ meeting recap

    The Fremont County Commissioners met yesterday, February 4th, in the Commissioners’ Chambers at the Fremont County Courthouse. Below is a summary recap of their meeting.

    The board ratified approval of a consultant services policy for the WYDOT High-Risk Rural Roads Agreement for the Traverse Rumble Strip Project on 8 Mile Road and Highway 26 intersection and the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality Agreement for the Fremont County Dust Suppression Project.

    An extension of the employer benefit agreement between Fremont County Government and Masa Medical Transport Solutions was ratified.

    A memorandum of understanding between the Ninth Judicial District of the State of Wyoming, Fremont County, Wyoming and the Government of Fremont County was approved for the District Court Administrator position.

    The board accepted the resignation of Jane Lynn from the Fremont County Library Board, effective January 25th, 2020.

    The board accepted the resignation of Kristin Paulsen from the Fremont County Planning Commission, effection January 31st, 2020.

    The board accepted the resignation of Fremont County Fair Manager Barney Cosner, effective February 10th, 2020.

    The board approved a letter of support for Fremont Counseling’s application to provide publicly funded mental health and substance abuse services via a contract with the Wyoming Department of Health, Behavioral Health Division.

    The vacation of Nora Vista Subdivision, located approximately 1.5 miles west of Lander off Mullins Drive was approved.

    The board approved the vacation of lots 10, 11, 35 and 36 of the Grandview Estates Subdivision with the conditions recommended by the Fremont County Planning Commission regarding the recording of the easements.

    The board accepted the Audit Committee’s recommendation to select the audit firm Carver, Florek & James, CPAs to conduct annual audits for Fremont County Government, two treatment courts and the Solid Waste Disposal District for the years ended June 30, 2020, through 2022.

    Effective July 1, 2020, the mileage rates for reimbursing county employees for the use of personal vehicles upon county business will be increased to .45¢ per mile when no county vehicle is available and .35¢ per mile when the use of a personal vehicle is for the convenience of the employee.

    Fremont County Air Service (FAST) Representatives Kyle Butterfield, Missy White, and Ernie Over provided an update about the new SkyWest/United Express air service that commenced on January 12th, 2020, at Riverton Regional Airport. For their first month of service, SkyWest had 699 enplanements compared to 504 in 2018, and 512 in 2018. While there have been a few cancelations and delays those have due to weather, Kyle noted.
