On September 24th, 2019 we shared information regarding the arrest of a Riverton resident in connection to an Oklahoma cold case. Those details can be found in our earlier post.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office released their statement today regarding this case. Their statement is as follows:
On Friday, September 20, 2019, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested long time Fremont County resident, Willie C. Moore pursuant to an arrest warrant issued in Tulsa, Oklahoma for First Degree Murder in reference to a cold case from 1983. In 2016 the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by cold case team Detective from Tulsa and informed Willie C. Moore was a possible suspect in the 1983 murder of Anthony Baltes in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Fremont County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the Tulsa detectives in locating Willie Moore in Fremont County and assisted in facilitating an interview with Mr. Moore. The investigation continued for another 3 years until Tulsa Detectives had uncovered enough evidence to secure a Grand Jury Indictment. Mr. Moore will be extradited to Tulsa, Oklahoma to face the charges.
