Fremont County School District #25 Board of Trustees discussed the draft plan for reopening in the fall, referred to as the “Smart Start” plan, tonight, July 15th, during their regular meeting.
This was their first in what will likely be a few discussions in regards to meeting the mandates required by the Wyoming Department of Education that were released on July 1st.
Several community members reached out to County 10 concerned that parents will not be able to have input on the plan. Superintendent Joanne Flanagan shared tonight she is organizing a public forum so folks can voice concerns and share ideas. The date and time of the forum will be announced in the coming days.
“More heads together come up with better ideas,” Flanagan said in regards to the reopening plan.
“Smart Start” plans are due to the state for review no later than August 3rd. Everyone is hopeful that schools can reopen with the least amount of restrictions, but things remain fluid at this point.
County 10 will share updates as information is released and finalized.
