FBI indicates they are investigating possible homicide on Wind River Indian Reservation

Early this week, County 10 received multiple tips about a potential homicide on the Wind River Indian Reservation.

These tips and questions pointed unanimously, to an incident in a neighborhood north of 17-mile road, southwest of Riverton.

One person who wanted to remain anonymous, explained hearing a “series of gunshots rapidly” in the overnight hours Sunday late or early Monday.

The Fremont County Coroner told us that he had no comment on the situation.

One member of the Wind River Police Department said he could not comment publicly, but referred us to contact the FBI’s office in Denver.

We received a brief message from an FBI media relations spokeswoman, who confirmed they are looking into a possible homicide case currently on the Wind River Indian Reservation. However, she said, “The investigation is active and ongoing and we cannot provide comment at this time.”

County 10 will continue to look into the situation and update if and when we hear any new developments.
