A deadly shooting happened earlier today, August 7th, after Casper Police Officers responded to a reported kidnapping.
Oil City News was able to speak with Casper Police Department spokesperson Rebekah Ladd on the scene. Officers reportedly entered the home on the 2200 block of South Jefferson Street.
“An exchange of gunfire took place and officers gained entry into the bedroom,” Ladd shared with Oil City News.
One individual was injured, and one individual was dead on scene from gunfire, according to Ladd. At this time it is unknown if the injured and deceased individuals were struck by police gunfire or gunfire from another source.
