(Worland, WY) – A fatal crash occurred on US-20 north of Worland at around 10:30 am on Monday, April 19.
73-year-old Greybull resident Alvaro Serna Zamudio has been identified as the victim in this crash, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Serna Zamudio was driving north on US-20 when he lost control of the car while negotiating a curve on the snow-covered road. He entered the southbound lane and collided with a commercial truck.
Serna Zamudio was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the commercial truck has been identified as 68-year-old Alberta, Canada resident Eugene Klein. Klein was wearing his seatbelt and not injured in the crash.
Speed on the part of Serna Zamudio is being investigated as a potential contributing factor.
This is the 26th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021 compared to 22 in 2020, 45 in 2019, and 22 in 2018 to date.
