(Sundance, WY) – The Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) responded to a fatal rollover on I-90 near Sundance just before 9 am on April 28.
WHP identified the driver as 42-year-old Kelsey M. Conner, of Rapid City, South Dakota.
Conner was eastbound on the interstate when the left rear tire tread separated from the tire, causing loss of control of the vehicle, according to WHP. The vehicle exited the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Conner was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to injuries at the scene of the crash.
“Speed, alcohol/drug use, and equipment failure are being investigated as potential contributing factors,” WHP stated.
This is the 28th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021 compared to 24 in 2020, 50 in 2019, and 25 in 2018 to date.
