    Fatal accident near Bill, Wyoming involves vehicle vs. pedestrian

    On January 10, 2019, a fatal crash occurred at milepost 29 on Highway 59 near Bill, Wyoming.  Around 6:32 a.m., Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the area for a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

    A 2013 Ford F-350 truck was traveling northbound on Wyoming 59.  The driver observed a semi tractor-trailer stopped in the driving lane.  The Ford merged into the southbound lane to drive around the broken down semi tractor-trailer.   The driver of the semi exited his vehicle and did not see the Ford pickup truck. The driver of the semi walked into the southbound lane of travel colliding with the Ford pickup.

    The driver of the semi tractor-trailer succumbed to injuries at the scene of the crash.  His name will not be released until next of kin has been notified.

    This is the 4th fatality on Wyoming’s highway in 2019 compared to 1 in 2018, 0 in 2017, and 2 in 2016 to date.
