Fatal accident confirmed Thursday south of Laramie

    The Wyoming Highway Patrol has confirmed one person has died following a head-on collision south of Laramie on U.S. Highway 287 Thursday morning.

    Highway Patrol troopers responded just after 8:00 a.m. Thursday to the scene about 14 miles south of Laramie.

    WHP Lt. Mike Simmons said that a pickup truck had entered into oncoming traffic and struck a semi-truck head-on in the southbound lane.


    Highway 287 was closed for roughly 5 hours while crews worked to investigate and clean-up the scene.

    The identity and age of the deceased have not yet been released.
