Wind River Parkinson’s Support Group presents Teepa Snow
April 1 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pmFree
On Thursday, April 1, at 2 p.m., the Wind River Parkinson’s Support Group will watch nationally known Teepa Snow demonstrate Practical Tips for Better Living with Parkinson’s Disease. With her delightful sense of humor, Teepa will provide specific suggestions for how care partners and PD people can work together as a team. The subjects are helpful for people with dementia, too. The DVD covers the following
• After the diagnosis: What you choose to do matters!
• What helps, what hurts, and what gets in the way?
• Using rhythm and movement to overcome freezing and rigidity
• Using visual and physical cues to guide and model care routines
Teepa has hands-on caregiving experiences and has worked as part of Duke University Medical Center’s Neuro-Rehabilitation Team and as an Occupational Therapy director in a head injury facility.
Sponsored by the Wind River Parkinson’s Support Group, the program is open to anyone via Zoom, or they can come to the Lander Senior Center. Call the Senior Center at 332-2746 for more information.
