(Fremont County, WY) – Emma Crichton has signed her letter to compete at Chadron State College in Wrestling. Crichton is looking forward to competing at the four-year level next year. “It was definitely a good feeling putting the name on the paper, not what I expected for my future, but excited for it,” she said.
Crichton has had a lot of support from family, coaches and teammates. “The boys that I wrestled with the past four years talked me into it. Definitely, the coaches and family members were also a part of it.”
Head coach for the Shoshoni Wrestling team Anthony Trumpler is excited about Emma’s future. “To get to see her grow from a freshman ’til now has been a blast,” he said. “It’s awesome to see someone move on to the four-year level.” His message to Emma going to the college level is to enjoy everything. “Absorb everything you learn and enjoy it.”
Crichton’s message to young female athletes interested in wrestling is don’t give up. “It’s a hard sport, a lot of lessons and memories that come with it don’t give up because it is worth it in the end.”
