Easy, peasy, safe, and breezy. Transportation you should be using (if you’re not already)
Wind River Transportation Authority is the easiest way to commute around Fremont County, and it’s cheaper than driving your truck from town to town. In fact, more people than ever before are using the local public transportation: 1,082 more riders used the service in March 2017 than in 2016, an increase of 25 percent. And here’s why you should too.
“I ride the bus to work in Riverton from Lander nearly every day,” said one local rider. “The drop-off locations are super convenient, the drivers friendly, and I can get so much done on the ride that I couldn’t while driving.”
So much savings
Riding WRTA will save you money. In a truck or SUV that gets moderate gas mileage you could be spending upwards of $8 in a single round-trip drive from Riverton to Lander and back again.
How much would a monthly bus pass cost you? $25.
One rider told us he saves $200 a month using WRTA. That’s $2,400 each year. Think what you could do with that kind of money!
And if you don’t have a pass, the cost per trip is just $1.
Throughout the week, there are regular bus routes that make stops at multiple locations in Lander, Riverton, Hudson, Fort Washakie, Ethete, and Kinnear. Routes start as early as 5:45 a.m. and end as late as 7:05 p.m. Get a look at the complete routes. For a small fee, drivers will even drop you off at your preferred location if it’s close to the usual stop.
Using WRTA is mind-blowingly simple and stress free. Show up at the stop on time, get picked up, relax, and then get off at the stop closest to your destination. Not only will the drivers treat you well, but they’ll take care of that white-knuckle winter driving so you don’t have to.
Use the time on the bus to your advantage. Catch up on a podcast, get some emails done, message that family member who just never seem to have time for.
When the weather outside is frightful, let one of WRTA’s trusted, experienced, and highly trained drivers get you from point A to point B. No more worrying if your little sedan or light-weight pickup can make the trip.
With WRTA, drive time becomes your time.
