    Located at the Main Complex in Fort Washakie, ESVSP is funded by a new grant through the U.S. Department of Justice. Currently, the program has three employees: Program Coordinator Stefani Wanner, Victim Advocate Tracy Romberg, and Victim Advocate Collette Eagle.

    Stefani shared, “[The program] is highly confidential, [we] take that very seriously for safety. We will never force anyone to report to law enforcement. Our goal is for healing.”

    • Emergency transportation for victims/survivors of abuse and their children, who are in danger;
    • Advocacy for victims/survivors with other service providers (i.e. Dept. of Family Services, medical services, hospitals, legal services/attorneys, etc.) as needed;
    • Legal advocacy, including but not limited to, assistance with filing for Domestic Violence Protection Orders, Stalking Protection Orders and/or Peace Bonds, orientation to the Victims Bill of Rights and assistance with filing for Crime Victims Compensation;
    • Court orientation and accompaniment to protection order hearings and any other court hearings related to an individual’s case(s);
    • Providing referral services to other local, tribal, state or interstate service providers to meet the individual needs of the victim/survivor;
    • Provide peer support groups for domestic violence victims/survivors and their children, and may provide sexual assault support groups as needed.

    A goal for ESVSP includes applying for other grants so they can have their own shelter one day. They currently have spaces held through an MOU with Fremont County Alliance Shelter.

    They are accepting donations for victim compensation supplies. Items like blankets, change of clothes, stuffed animals and hygiene products. These items help victims who need to flee quickly and also offer client comfort. If you’d like to donate, you can call either of the numbers listed below.

    Stefani shares, “We get it. All of us have been through what we serve. Please don’t think we are people who don’t understand.”

    If you need help call (307) 438-3306 or (307) 438-3966.
