Earth Day sparks future clean-up days for Riverton

(Riverton, WY) – Earth Day kicks off more clean-up projects for Riverton as community members came out to clean up the City of Riverton’s Federal Boulevard.

Masks, liquor bottles, and drug paraphernalia were found among the fodder as volunteers cleaned up on Riverton’s thoroughfares.

WYRiverton Chamber Director Janet Winslow said that they are scheduling dates for more clean-ups in the community. The next clean-up will be a Riverwalk Clean-up fundraising event for the Legion Baseball Team on Saturday, June 25 at the Fairgrounds. A pancake breakfast will be served, and a $20 donation is asked for by participants and the community.

Another dedicated Clean-Up Day will be in July TBA, specifically for goat-head thorns. “We all know how dangerous and destructive they are for dog paws and bike tires,” said Winslow.

Clean-Up Days are held in conjunction with the WYRiverton Chamber and the City of Riverton.
