Earth Day cleanup event Friday in Riverton

The Riverton Chamber of Commerce is hosting a town cleanup event Friday to celebrate Earth Day.

Volunteers will gather at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Riverton City Hall, 816 N. Federal Blvd.

The group will be divided into two crews. One will begin cleaning at the north end of Federal Boulevard, and the other will start at the south end.

“Federal is the main focus,” local organizer Bethany Baldes said. “If we have enough volunteers we’ll start working on the alleys up Main Street as well.”

The event will last until 11 a.m., but Baldes said volunteers are free to “work longer” if they so choose.

Volunteers are invited to bring their own gloves to the event, but only bring bags if you are planning to donate them.

For more information call the Riverton Chamber of Commerce at 856-4801.
