#DuboisBiz: First-ever ACE Hardware opens in Dubois

(Dubois, WY) – Ace Mountain Hardware opened its doors on Monday, May 24th and offers a wide selection of tools, hardware, landscaping, plumbing, electrical, paint, hunting, fishing, camping, automotive, home decor, toys and so much more.

This first-ever ACE store in Dubois is located in the former Hardware Hank’s building at 110 E. Ramshorn – their current operating hours are 7 am to 6 pm seven days a week.

Owners Rene and Debbie Suda have been working hard on minor renovations, updating and cosmetic work on the store since January 1st. They are excited to provide the community full shelves and a variety of products that will have a seasonal rotation.

The Suda’s also own the Stagecoach Inn & Suites that has been in Rene’s family for over 40 years and happens to be located across the street from their new store. Also in the same area is Noon Rock Pizza which is owned by their son.

We knew our community needed this so we dove in, Debbie shared about opening a new business.

One of the main reasons they went with ACE is because of their model and the close proximity of a distribution center to keep their shelves stocked.

ACE is a globally recognized co-op that offers an adaptable model for every shape and size, Rene explained.

“Doing this during a pandemic, it was important we went with a distributor that could supply a store,” he said. “We knew that ACE could fulfill that.”

There is also the flexibility to make the store your own which is why they added the “Home Decor & More” corner as well as items for hunting, camping, and fishing among many others. They also have a fully stocked greenhouse.

They also plan to add more items as they become more settled, and did note that a few things from vendors are missing due to the production/delivery backup caused by the pandemic.

“This is a great all-around store,” Rene shared. “There are areas we are going to build on. This will be their one-stop-shop, they won’t have to go down below anymore.”

Both Rene and Debbie credits a great crew at the Stagecoach Inn who have stepped up to let them take the time to get the new store up and running.

“They’ve all been great,” Rene said.
