Dubois Town Council to consider 2024-2025 budget ordinance on final reading during regular meeting Wednesday

    The Dubois Town Council will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in the Council Chambers at Dubois Town Hall, 712 Meckem Street.

    The agenda begins with a public hearing on the town’s fiscal year 2024-2025 budget ordinance.

    The council will consider the budget ordinance on third and final reading later in the meeting.


    The council will also hear progress reports from recipients of local half percent economic development sales tax funding and consider a resolution authorizing open containers in town from 10 a.m. to midnight July 4.

    There are three other resolutions on the agenda:
    -authorizing rates for town services for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024
    -authorizing solid waste rates for town services for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024
    -regulating the promulgated use of public display of fireworks in town

    The council will also consider approving a request from the Dubois Chamber of Commerce to close East Ramshorn Street between 202 East Ramshorn and 1 South First Street for an outside street dance 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. July 3.

    The council will consider awarding two Tourism Asset Development grants to the Dubois Western Activities Association on Wednesday:
    -$14,350 to help cover advertising for the Pack Horse Races event June 8-9
    -$29,900 to help cover advertising for the Day of the Cowboy event July 27-28


    There are also three open container permits on the agenda for:
    -the National Museum of Military Vehicles parade 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 4 from the west corner of U.S. Highway 26 to Third Street
    -the Dubois Chamber of Commerce Street Dance 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. July 3
    -the Dubois Chamber of Commerce 2024 Wild West Brewfest 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. July 27

    The council will also consider approving a letter of support for the U.S. Highway 26 2024 Wildlife Crossing Project and consenting to the mayor’s appointment of Karen Bradbury to the Dubois Planning Commission to complete Jeff Milton’s term.

    There is one business license application on the agenda for Coopers Pain Killer Massage and Tattoo at 26 North First Street.
