    Dubois student arrested for making terroristic threats

    The Fremont County Sheriff’s office released a statement Thursday afternoon about an incident this week at the Dubois School. The statement in its entirety is in bold below:

     

    On the afternoon of February 11, 2019, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office received information through the Wyoming “Safe 2 Tell” network regarding an alleged threat made by a student at the Dubois School, towards the school.

    After notification from the Safe 2 Tell Network, the Dubois School District was notified of the information, and Deputies were able to contact the student at home Tuesday evening.

    The Sheriff’s Office worked with the School District, the student’s parent(s), and Mental Health Services to further evaluate the validity of the alleged threat.

    After investigating the incident, the student was placed under arrest for making terroristic threats in violation of Wyoming State Statute 6-2-505. Every action that can be taken according to law is being followed, to include the Sheriff’s Office working with the School District, pursuant to their policies as well as the Fremont County Attorney’s Office and professional Mental Health services.

    At this time, the student remains in custody and there is no threat to the school or community. Further investigation into this matter is ongoing and further investigative details cannot be released at this time.
