“Tad Romsa is the principal of the Dubois K-12 school. Mr. Romsa is the complete picture of what you could ask for in a K-12 principal. If you can’t find him playing ball during lunch, or in a class listening with the high school students, or at recess with the younger students.

“No matter the program he is the biggest cheerleader for all of our students. He is constantly letting anyone know, that will listen, the stats for not only our students but the students in our entire state.

“Principal Romsa asked me to choose a course to teach to our kids. He was just as excited to bring the entire D.A.R.E. program to our school as I was. He believed it would help with the current situations facing our students in our particular school. Once I was certified he asked how he could help at every corner.

“He was willing and able to help with activities during our lessons and with our big D.A.R.E. graduation. Just like any other activity, he was there in the crowd cheering for our D.A.R.E. graduates as they received their certificates. I am thankful for Mr. Romsa for giving me the opportunity to teach D.A.R.E. and look forward to working beside him for years to come.”

“I am very humbled and it’s a very big honor,” Romsa shared about receiving the award. “I appreciate Dani so much for nominating me, but you guys know the D.A.R.E. program is not about the administrator. It’s about what she and Kevin have done with the program. They are the ones that deserve it. I really appreciate it, it’s very humbling.”

Deputy Gilgen has been with the FCSO for 12 years and the Dubois SRO for four years. This was her first year teaching the D.A.R.E. program and submitted the nomination during the Wyoming D.A.R.E. Officer Association Conference a few weeks ago.

During the same conference, FCSO Sergeant Kevin Rieman, who previously taught the program in Dubois, received the 2020-2021 Wyoming D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year award.
