    Deceased climber discovered on Teewinot Mountain in Grand Teton National Park

    (Moose, WY) — A deceased male was discovered today, September 4th, at the base of the Black Chimney climbing route Teewinot Mountain by an ascending climber.

    Grand Teton National Park rangers arrived at the scene and recovered the remains of the deceased climber, whose name is being withheld at this time.

    He appears to have been climbing alone with the intent of climbing the East Face route based on the marked map found with him. Route finding is difficult in the area.

    The National Park Service is conducting an investigation into the accident. Details on the deceased are being withheld until next-of-kin notifications are completed.
