    Dale Eugene Kunze

    Dale was born April 29, 1932 in Elbert Colorado to Edward and Vandella (Kleeman).

    Kunze moved to Albin Wyoming early in life. Before moving to Lander, he finished school at FCVHS in 1951. He worked part time for Safeway during his school days.

    In July of 1952, Dale married Elaine Franklin in Pavillion, Wyoming and started his full time job at Safeway and also worked with his father at Western Auto. Dale enjoyed his time with friends and co-workers in the Junior JC’s having parade’s and bringing entertainment to Lander.

    They raised three children, with Dale coaching baseball and looking forward to each new year in attending all their sporting events. Dale also was a member of the Sheriff’s Posse enjoying 4th of July festivities, day rides and pot luck get togethers.

    Elaine passed away, September 1982 after a struggle with cancer.

    On August 1985, Dale Married Ardiss (Tobiason) Anderson in Great Falls, Montana. They made their home in Lander.

    He retired from Safeway after 37 years. After retiring, Dale enjoyed his time driving school bus for Lander School District, following his bus kids through their years of playing sports at LVHS, also driving shuttle cars for Fremont Motors. He was a loving and supportive father, husband and friend, as well as an honest worker.

    Dale enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, dominoes, visiting with friends and most certainly dancing, having suggested and supported the installation of a dance floor at the senior center.

    His hobbies were wood crafts, traveling, cruising, attending Wyoming Cowboy & Lander Tiger school sports and playing pool with friends at the senior center. Dale enjoyed moving cattle for the -B- ranch with friends to and from summer pastures. Branding days and just helping with the cattle, using his favorite horse, Scooter.

    He is survived by his wife of 34 years, sons, Rodney of Billings, Montana, and Danny of Lander, Wyoming; daughter, Zannie Wyant of Littleton, Colorado; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; step daughters, Donna Vaskey of Centennial, Colorado, Gale Anderson of Casper, Wyoming; step son, Darrell Anderson of Great Falls, Montana; 7 step grandchildren; and 7 step great-grandchildren.

    He is preceded in death by his wife Elaine; his parents; sister, Donna LaBeau; and daughter-in-law Margo Kunze.

    Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at 10 am., Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in the Bethel Lutheran Church, 626 Shoshone, Lander, Wyoming. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at 1 pm.
