CWC Rodeo Team results from EWC Lancer Rodeo

The Rustlers traveled to Torrington for the EWC Lancer Rodeo this past weekend. Three Rustlers placed in the long round but dropped down in the standings after taking no-times in the short round.

For the second week in a row sophomore, Sadie Sturman had a solid performance. She was able to stop the clock in 2.5 seconds in the Breakaway Roping, which was fast enough to split 2nd and 3rd in the long round. Myra Jean Rudolph placed 5th in the long round of the Team Roping with her partner Gorgie Orahood (LCCC) after stopping the clock in 8.8 seconds. Unfortunately, they took a no-time in the short round which dropped them to 8th in the average.

In the Steer Wrestling events, Cole Trainor has been gathering up some points these past two weekends and was the only member on the Men’s team to qualify for the short round. Cole threw his steer in 5.8 seconds, which was fast enough to place 3rd in the long round but wasn’t able to tip his short round steer over and took a no-time.

“As a whole, I was really pleased with the way the entire  team performed and the way their horses worked,” stated coach Drew Schrock.  “We had three place really well in the long round and quite a few just out of making the short round. The short round is made up of the ten fastest runs or best rides from the long round. Freshman Kaden Berger was just out of making it in two events. He placed 11th in the Steer Wrestling and 12th in the Tie-Down.”

The next event for the Rustlers will be in two weeks, for the “Casper College Ropin’ & Riggin’ Days” in Casper, the 16th-18th of April, and will also be live-streamed here.
