    CWC Disaster Drill Training on Thursday, April 21

    Riverton, WY — Central Wyoming College is conducting a practice disaster drill for emergency preparedness Thursday, April 21.  

    WHAT: Central Wyoming College will direct a five-hour educational disaster drill. The event is meant to look realistic, but prominent signage will indicate it is a drill. All agencies that receive federal funding for emergency preparedness are required to exercise FEMA’s Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) to shape planning, assess and validate capabilities and address areas for improvement for emergency preparedness.

    WHO: CWC students (nursing, medical assistant, new media, film, and criminal justice) and administration on campus will participate within the scope of their degree program. Law enforcement, Wyoming PBS, Classic Air Medical, National Weather Service, Riverton Fire Department, Fremont County Public Health, Fremont County Emergency Management, and Frontier Ambulance will also participate in this important drill. Local media are welcome to attend the event and report from a designated area.

    WHEN: Thursday, April 21, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
