    Crowheart Fire Station coming together

(Crowheart, WY) – The much-needed new fire station in Crowheart is coming along with the walls and ceiling now up, shared Fremont County Fire Protection District Chief Craig Haslam. Work had been hampered by the high winds.

The doors are expected to go in this week, and work on the inside should continue. Jerry Bornhoft Construction is the general contractor, Haslam noted. It also has a 30,000-gallon backup water supply tank.

A new station in Crowheart has been on the list for quite a while, but the funding hasn’t been there. The original station was built in the ’70s.

The Fremont County Fire Protection District was able to secure a State Land and Investment grant to pay for half of the cost of the new station. The total cost of the station before the grant was right under $2 million dollars.
