Construction Coming to 2nd Street in Lander Next Week

Beginning Monday, April 20th, and lasting for approximately 10 days, residents in Lander will encounter traffic control on 2nd Street as contractor Insituform lines portions of the sanitary sewer main with cured-in-place pipe.

Multiple blocks of 2nd Street will be closed to traffic at a time to protect workers and prevent motorists from hitting equipment that will be staged in the middle of the street. Work is expected to begin near the bridge across the Middle Fork Popo Agie River on South 2nd and move north, with the project area changing daily.

Drivers will also encounter traffic control on Main Street between 1st Street and 3rd Street while work is being performed in that area. Lane closures will be in place to direct traffic around a manhole located in the middle of Main Street. Two full closures will occur during the 10-day period. The full closures will occur at night to minimize disruption.

Detours will be in place to direct traffic around all closures.

Property owners and tenants with sewer services connected to sections of the main that are being lined will be notified at least 48 hours in advance when work will temporarily block flow from their services. The service disruptions will generally last less than 8 hours, and notification will be given when service is restored.

Thank you for your patience while this important work is completed to rehabilitate our aging infrastructure.
