#Activate10: ConnectRiverton Fund calling for donations to help those struggling; matching funds available

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

ConnectRiverton is an initiative organized by the Riverton Chamber of Commerce, the City of Riverton Community Engagement Committee and the Riverton Jaycees. A website, launched over the weekend, has been set up to highlight local opportunities and coordinate material and financial donations.

Today, the group is calling for donations to help Riverton residents struggling through the fallout related to COVID-19.

An email from the Riverton Chamber on Monday asks, “if you’re employed or are able to donate, donate $1 to the ConnectRiverton Fund. Just $1.” According to the Chamber, all funds will stay in Riverton and donations can be made through the ConnectRiverton website. For those who wish to mail a check, the Chamber address is 213 W Main St, Suite C, Riverton, WY 82501.

The Chamber also announced that Bailey Enterprises has pledged to match donations up to a total of $1000.

The website is updated daily with things like social distance compliant events, local job listings, small business loan information and more.

Lander has launched a similar project called Lander United. Learn more about their efforts here.
