    Community members, local businesses honor the 13 fallen U.S. service members

    (Fremont County, WY) – Special tributes continue to be made across the Nation in honor of the 13 U.S. service members killed in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 26th.

    Fremont County businesses and community members have also found special ways to honor them.

    Below are the names of the 13 U.S. service members provided by the U.S. Department of Defense:

    • Marine Corps Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo, 25, of Lawrence, Massachusetts. 
    • Marine Corps Sgt. Nicole L. Gee, 23, of Sacramento, California. 
    • Marine Corps Cpl. Hunter Lopez, 22, of Indio, California. 
    • Marine Corps Cpl. Daegan W. Page, 23, of Omaha, Nebraska. 
    • Marine Corps Cpl. Humberto A. Sanchez, 22, of Logansport, Indiana. 
    • Marine Corps Lance Cpl. David L. Espinoza, 20, of Rio Bravo, Texas. 
    • Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jared M. Schmitz, 20, of St. Charles, Missouri.  
    • Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Rylee J. McCollum, 20, of Jackson, Wyoming. 
    • Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Dylan R. Merola, 20, of Rancho Cucamonga, California. 
    • Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Kareem M. Nikoui, 20, of Norco, California. 
    • Navy Hospitalman Maxton W. Soviak, 22, of Berlin Heights, Ohio.
    • Army Staff Sgt. Ryan C. Knauss, 23, of Corryton, Tennessee.

    Mamaw’s Kitchen in Lander had a table reserved for the 13 soldiers last week.

    Teton Athletic Club held a tribute workout on September 5th in honor of the service members. Their names and photos are displayed on the mirror along with messages such as “God Bless American,” “All Gave Some, Some Gave All,” “Never Forget Freedom is Never Free” and “13 Gone but Not Forgotten.”

    Each of the 13 stations had a photo of a soldier and each person would say their name before starting. They did this 13 times.

    The Rustic Pine Tavern shared the below image on their Instagram with the following caption:

    “These beers were purchased in Honor and Remembrance of the 13 Service Members who lost their lives in Kabul, Afghanistan.”
