Community Health Centers of Central Wyoming: Time for Something New

It is, for all intents and purposes, the most important day of your life. It’s scary and it’s stressful and it’s intimidating and it’s beautiful and ‘What do I do, where do I go, how am I going to get through this?’ You thought you were ready, but now?

Well… Relax. Take a deep breath. Let us help.

The Community Health Centers of Central Wyoming exist as a resource for all who need it, especially including expectant and delivering mothers. CHCCW knows how important (and scary!) this experience is and we want to provide you with all of the care and information that we can throughout this journey.

Because of this, CHCCW is proud to announce that Dr. Janet Frost OB/GYN and Tara Blumenshine, APRN, Certified Nurse Midwife will be providing labor and delivery for their patients at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital(HSCMH) in Thermopolis, effective immediately.

Both Frost and Blumenshine will continue to see their established patients at the Riverton clinic, and they are fully credentialed to perform deliveries at HSCMH. With Sage-West Hospital no longer providing Labor and Delivery Services in Riverton, the Community Health Centers of Central Wyoming stepped in to provide alternative options that were in the best interest of our patients, both current and new.

“This is an exciting opportunity to both grow our resources and to provide patients with an alternative, safe and efficient way in which to welcome their newest addition into the world,” said Cheryl Howard the marketing director of CHC. “We are proud to work with both Dr. Frost and Nurse Blumenshine and have no doubt that they will become welcome assets to the Thermopolis community, just as they have been welcome assets of the Community Health Centers of Central Wyoming.”

Patients who present at the Emergency Room in Riverton can do so safely, will be transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital. The HSCM hospital in Thermopolis, is a few minutes further than the current drive to Lander for our patients. Labor and Delivery services are partnered with HSCMH and Red Rock Family Practice to provide 24/7 availability.

“Partnering with our community for quality health and healing,” is the mission statement of HSCMH and they are proving to be an excellent partner in health for delivering mothers. Hot Springs County Memorial is offering tours to any of our patients who would like to view the facility. HSCMH is going to be breaking ground on a 30,000 square foot addition to the hospital which will include two new labor and delivery suites in addition to all new patient rooms.
