Colorado man confesses to killing girlfriend, then driving to Wyoming
A 22-year-old Colorado man was arrested in Powell, Wyoming after confessing to killing his girlfriend.
Jonathan Eugen Akin turned himself into Powell police on Tuesday, telling them he had just driven from Thornton, Colorado with his girlfriend’s body in his vehicle.
The Powell Police Department worked with Thornton, Colorado Police who reported that they found evidence of the crime in the couple’s apartment.
A first-degree murder charge is pending in Colorado according to the Cody Enterprise. The victim’s identity and the details of her death have not yet been released. It’s not clear why Akin drove to Wyoming.
