    Cold front forces thick smoke into central Wyoming Thursday

    According to the National Weather Service office in Riverton, that thick haze you’re probably noticing around central Wyoming is actually coming from Montana wildfires.

    A cold front is forcing the air further south.

    NWS Riverton reports that the smoke will limit visibility Thursday morning.

    A cold front sweeping southward across the state is bringing smoke
    from fires in Central Montana into the region. Visibility will
    drop to 2 to 3 miles at times as the front passes, with improving
    visibility expected 3 to 6 hours after passage of the front.
