    Climber dies after rappelling fall in Grand Teton National Park

    Grand Teton National Park rangers are reporting the that a man is dead after falling 300 feet while rappelling near Jackson.

    The man’s name or age has not yet been released.

    It’s believed he fell Sunday on the Guide’s Wall, a feature on the Storm Point area near Jenny Lake and just north Teewinot Mountain.

    He was apparently hiking with a partner, who spent the night on the wall until she could be rescued Monday morning.

    Rangers learned of the accident Sunday night when a hiker spotted a flashing light and heard the surviving climber calling for help. Rangers continue to investigate the fall.
