It’s believed he fell Sunday on the Guide’s Wall, a feature on the Storm Point area near Jenny Lake and just north Teewinot Mountain.

He was apparently hiking with a partner, who spent the night on the wall until she could be rescued Monday morning.

Rangers learned of the accident Sunday night when a hiker spotted a flashing light and heard the surviving climber calling for help. Rangers continue to investigate the fall.
