City of Riverton and Wind River Job Corp work together to help teach students

At the city council meeting last night, the council approved a memorandum of understanding to establish a work based learning program with Wind River Job Corp to bring students onto city projects and achieve student goals.

Public Works Director Kyle Butterfield said that the city had entered into agreements with Job Corp in the past.

“For example we’ve had students in our mechanic bay. We’ve also had students participate in administrative duties,” Butterfield said.

Butterfield said that mentorship between city employees and Wind River Job Corp can start as early as next week.
