Last week, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon urged out-of-state residents to either stop visiting the state during the COVID-19 pandemic, or self-quarantine for 14 days if they’re staying in the Cowboy State for an extended period of time.
At least 153 people apparently did not get that memo.
According to Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr, the state of Wyoming sold 153 non-resident fishing licenses last weekend (April 4th and 5th) alone. Orr herself is an avid fishing enthusiast. Her social media profiles show her fly fishing in Snake River, and her Twitter handle is @GoFishWyo.
Orr’s statement and Governor Gordon’s latest press conference can be found below.

Dear Visitors: We love that you appreciate all Wyoming offers, including recreation and our great outdoors. The fact 153 non-resident annual fishing licenses were sold this weekend alone signals you are not staying at home. Please stay away. We’ll welcome you back another day.
