    Cheyenne man arrested after fatal hit-and-run

    (Cheyenne, WY) – The Cheyenne Police Department has released details regarding a Wednesday evening vehicle vs pedestrian incident that left the pedestrian dead.

    Wednesday, March 24th at approximately 6:00 p.m. Cheyenne Police Officers responded to a fatal hit and run incident involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Nationway and Hot Springs Avenue.

    The preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred as a pedestrian was walking eastbound in the median on Nationway. The driver of a 2014 Chevy Silverado pickup truck swerved into the median, striking the pedestrian, and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

    The suspect, later identified as Kyle Ziemer, 32, of Cheyenne, was located, arrested, and booked into Laramie County Detention Center on felony charges of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide and suspected Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

    The female victim, a 38-year-old Cheyenne resident, was transported by ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.
