Chancey Williams and company to headline CWC’s 50 year celebration
Wyoming country favorites Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band have been tapped to headline Central Wyoming College’s 50 Forward Festival.
The big party, set for May 11, will celebrate 50 years of education at the college in Riverton. CWC officially started educating people in the community in 1966.
“We are so proud to have been an integral part of the communities we serve for 50 years. This festival is our way of thanking everyone and opening our doors wide as a continuing welcome and invitation to all as we look forward to a bright and exciting future!” said Dr. Brad Tyndall, President of Central Wyoming College.
Free festivities are planned throughout the day that Thursday. Starting at 3 p.m., there will be loads of yard games and fun activities on the main lawn in front of the Intertribal Education and Community Center. There will be bouncy houses for the young ones and games like corn hole and volleyball for everyone else.
Ever wanted to ‘open’ for Chancey Williams? Now’s your chance. From 6-8 p.m., there will be Unplugged (open mic) sessions for locals to show off their talents. Reserve a time slot by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Chancey and the band take the stage at 8:30 p.m. The concert is free, and there will be a gated, 2 drink maximum beer garden during the show.
