(Fort Washakie, WY) – The first Veterans Day celebration at the Path of Honor – Wind River Veterans Memorial in Fort Washakie was held today, Thursday, November 11th.
Organized by the American Legion Richard Pogue Post #81, the ceremony was the first of its kind at the Path of Honor, Wyoming’s very first memorial that honors Native American Veterans, which also serves as a tribute to all military service members who live within the boundaries of the Wind River Reservation.
Speakers at the event included Wyman Weed, John Wadda, Lyle Wadda, Felicia Antelope, Deena Russo, and Jessie Poirie, and the drum group for the event was the Big Wind Singers.
