CenturyLink national outage Thursday touched parts of Wyoming

A nationwide outage on the Century Link System has had some impacts in Wyoming. Minor impacts were noted in Fremont County and the City of Riverton offices were without email and internet Thursday and into Friday morning. Fremont County Sheriff Skip Hornecker said that unlike other Wyoming counties, Fremont County’s 911 service “has so many backups and redundancies” that the county’s emergency services were not impacted to any great extent. “We did have some minor interruptions in some of our programs, obtaining addresses from calls and such, but our 911 center kept operating as usual.”

WyomingLotto announced in an email that due to the outage, the winning numbers from Thursday’s Cowboy Draw would not be announced until service was returned.

The national outage was reported in a post by CNBC.
