Central Wyoming College’s Essy Latu becomes modern day career scoring leader

Central Wyoming College release:

Central hosted Eastern Wyoming College on Saturday, February 8th. It was a close game through all four quarters, but the Rustlers would end up falling by 3 to the Lancers, 63-60.


Although the Rustlers fell short, it was one for the record books for the women’s basketball team, more specifically for sophomore Essy Latu. Latu surpassed Paulani Tarawa’s former record of 824 career points at CWC. Latu scored 24 points, which put her total career points at 832.

Freshman Hayley Cotter had a high of 17 points and an outstanding 15 rebounds. Teammate Kai Ramos added 9 to the Rustlers score, and Siona Astorga added 8.
