Celebrating Tiayla Suhn: A Beacon of Kindness and Excellence

Each week, staff at St. Margaret’s Catholic School nominate a student who has shown exemplary behavior towards their peers and academics. View all nominated students here.

As we bid farewell to another remarkable academic year, it’s time to shine the spotlight on one exceptional individual who embodies the spirit of St. Margaret’s School through and through. This week, we honor Tiayla Suhn as our final Student of the Week for the 2023-2024 school year.

Tiayla’s journey at St. Margaret’s has been inspiring. From her earliest days in kindergarten to her triumphant completion of fifth grade, she has left an indelible mark on our school community. We will miss her as she prepares to embark on the exciting new chapter of middle school.

Reflecting on her time at St. Margaret’s, Tiayla’s fifth-grade teacher said, “Not enough can be said about Tiayla. She is a hardworking student. She pours herself into every assignment. If, by chance, she doesn’t understand something, she puts forth the effort to master it. Not only does Tiayla excel in the classroom, but she is also a great classmate and friend. You can often find her talking and laughing with her peers or out playing kickball with the younger students. Tiayla is a great student that brings a smile to everyone she comes in contact with.”

Tiayla’s dedication to her studies is matched only by her passion for making a difference in the world. When asked what she would invent if given the chance, her response reflects her compassionate nature: “If I could invent anything in the world, it would be the cure to all cancers because a lot of people are diagnosed with it and they can’t do anything about it.” Her empathy and desire to alleviate suffering exemplify the values instilled in every student at St. Margaret’s School.

Beyond academics, Tiayla finds joy in pursuits close to her heart, such as barrel racing and her love of horses. Her future aspirations include basking in the warmth of hot, sunny beaches by the ocean and attending a good college someday.

Tiayla cherishes the simple joys of childhood, fondly recalling her favorite memory at St. Margaret’s School, “Playing kickball at recess with the whole school.” It’s moments like recess kickball that remind us of the importance of camaraderie and play in shaping unforgettable experiences and good young people.

Tiayla’s role models, her mom and dad, embody the values of faith, love, and integrity that she holds dear. “They try really hard to raise a good Catholic family,” she shares, a testament to the strong foundation of moral guidance that has shaped her character.

In her own words, a leader is “somebody that is kind, caring, and does not try to be like everybody tells them to be. They are themselves.” It’s a philosophy she embodies herself, and her teachers at St. Margaret’s School cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes in middle school and beyond.

Congratulations, Tiayla, on being our final Student of the Week for the school year, and may your future be as bright as your radiant smile!
