(Lander, WY) – Sinks Canyon State Park is celebrating the upcoming International Dark Sky Week by hosting a Star Party Saturday, May 7, at 9:00 PM, according to a release from Wyoming State Parks & Cultural Resources.
This event, set up in the Visitor Center parking lot, is free and open to the public.
Telescopes will be provided and the Central Wyoming Astronomical Society will be set up for programming.
All are welcome – dress warm for when the sun goes down!
This stargazing event is the second step in efforts to become a dark sky site.
Sinks Canyon staff recently replaced all outdoor lights to be international dark sky association approved.
