The Wyoming Highway Patrol has released information on a fatal one-vehicle rollover that occurred just after 7:00 pm on December 9th around milepost 174 on I-25 west of Glenrock.
56-year-old Casper resident Anita Witten was driving northbound on I-25 when her vehicle exited the roadway’s right side, according to WHP. She overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to enter the median before overturning.
“Witten was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash,” WHP said in their release. “Driver inattention is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.”
This is the 121st fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2020 compared to 142 in 2019, 108 in 2018, and 120 in 2017 to date.
