    Bureau of Land Management fighting wildfire near Hanna, Wy

    Cheyenne, Wyo. – Wildland firefighters from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) along with crews from Carbon County, and the State of Wyoming are working on the RR 316 fire located near the town of Hanna, WY. Fire resources responded yesterday afternoon to the fire working to protect residences and infrastructure adjacent to the fire. On Saturday evacuations were implemented by Carbon County and highway 72 is currently closed for fire operations for the safety of firefighters and the public. The RR 316 fire is currently estimated at 7,500 acres and 0% contained. 

    Red flag warning was issued today for the area for high temperatures and dry conditions that could influence the fires growth. Ground and air resources are assigned to the fire including four Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs) and a helicopter along with numerous ground resources. 

    The cause of the wildfire is under investigation at the time
