Boysen State Park Campground Road sloughs off into the Wind River on Friday
(Boysen State Park, Wyo.) – One minute the road was there, the next minute it was gone. A portion of the Upper Wind River Campground Road below Boysen Dam to access the camping cabins and RV camp sites sloughed off into the Wind River on Friday. There was no immediate cause determined for the geologic slip, but from photographs provided by the Wyoming Department of Transportation, it appeared a large quantity of rock rip-rap had previously been placed on the riverbank at the site. WYDOT Geologists and Engineers are scheduled to arrive Monday to inspect the site.
In the interim, warning cones and barriers have been placed around the slide.
