    Berry Bryant Memorial Scholarship funded

UPDATE: A previous version stated funds raised for the scholarship would also help pay for a memorial bench. The bench will be covered by separate donations.

(Riverton, WY) – Fundraising efforts were underway in March to establish a memorial scholarship at Northwest College (NWC) in Powell for Riverton High School class of 1996 graduate Berry Bryant.

A total of $8,235 was raised by community supporters, according to Mandi (Belding) Williams, who spearheaded the effort for her former classmate.

The funds were then matched during the college’s “Giving Day” on March 25th and surpassed the minimum of $10,000 to establish an endowment scholarship at NWC. This will produce a $750 scholarship which will likely continue to grow over the years.

Separate donations for a memorial bench on the NWC campus have also been made.

Details for both the scholarship and bench will be worked out in the coming weeks. County 10 will share updates as things are finalized.

Donations to Berry’s scholarship fund can still be made, however, the funds will no longer be matched at this time. Click here to make a donation.
