    Bear cub pulled from tree in Lander Saturday

    This morning, October 17th, the Lander Volunteer Fire Department, Lander Police Department, and Game and Fish retrieved a black bear cub out of a tree near Safeway and Atlantic City Federal Credit Union in Lander.

    “The youngster was tranquilized from the bucket of the apparatus, allowing LVFD and G&F officials to safely pull the cub into the basket for a nice, easy ride down to the awaiting kennel and cozy blankets,” according to a post from the LVFD.

    A black bear cub was spotted off of Spriggs Drive in Lander yesterday afternoon, according to scanner traffic. They took off toward the mountain before Game and Fish arrived.

    County 10 has reached out to Game and Fish see what is next for the cub, and where momma might be. Also, to see if they think it is same cub that was spotted yesterday. We will share an update when we hear back.
